chunky knits and gold jewelry

You can’t go wrong with the classics.

I’ll be the first to admit that I spent most of last month itching to dig through my closet. In Portland, it just doesn’t get cold enough to have proper sweater weather in September. But when October arrives, all bets are off.

With my birthday last month, I got myself a treat. I’d been wanting a cozy gray knit for the cold months — I’ve nearly worn out my old favorite — and this one from & Other Stories ticks all of the necessary boxes. It’s cropped (for high-waisted pants, obviously), has a high neckline, and is composed of a cozy, soft fabric. As I eagerly await the onset of an autumn chill, I’ve been playing dress-up with it. I can’t wait to wear it with trousers, Levi’s (as styled here), or thrown over a dress. It easily transitions into an “athleisure” look too, when worn with leggings and sneakers.

In my book, textured pieces always go well with delicate accessories. I’m also loving these personalized necklaces from oNecklace. They reached out to me a few weeks ago and were kind enough to send two of their pieces over. I got to customize the wording on each, how long the chain was, the material, et cetera. It was very, very cool to choose exactly what I wanted! I’m wearing their Classic name necklace and the Initial Pendant. I love the way they look when worn together or separately, or even paired with other necklaces from my jewelry collection. And yes… I did get a necklace with my dog’s name on it.
